New Google Places Forum Released, Old Knowledge Base Gone

If you’ve ever experienced any issues with Google Places in the past, you are more than likely familiar with the Google Places Forum where you could go and post information about your Places listing, whether it was due to a merge or review issue, etc. and seek assistance.

The original Places Forum has been replaced with the new Google and Your Business Forum.

But not only that! All the old Google Places Archive Data that was gathered from everyone who ever asked a question or received an answer or guidance from the Google Places Top Contributor Volunteers has also been removed!

The Good News Is ...

Mike Blumenthal, a Local Places expert, has archived a variety of this original data that is no longer available from Google, and has placed it on his Web site for historical reference. You can read more on his March 19, 2012 post “Archived Places Forum Posts”.

So, should you ever need to go back and search through the historical archive, that data may be viewed at http://places.blumenthals.com/

Mike, thanks for looking out for all us Small Business owners!
